Just like humans, animals possess emotions, but the way they display them can differ across species.
The dog in question appeared forlorn and emaciated, sitting close to the skeletal remains and skin of a large dog that had passed away several days prior. It is highly likely that the puppy is the offspring of the deceased canine.
The scene features a young pup steadfastly remaining by the lifeless body of the larger dog, now reduced to a mere skeleton and skin.
People inquired about the puppy’s situation, but the photographer lost track of the pup when he returned, an understandable occurrence considering the time that had elapsed.
Later, it was discovered that the photographer had not taken the dog with him at that time, which led to some people’s frustration. In the harsh conditions of Tibet, there was still hope for the puppy’s survival.
In Myanmar, another puppy was found beside his mother’s body. The young dog remained next to his mother’s nearly decomposed remains, days after she had met her tragic end in a Myanmar village. A Reuters reporter captured this poignant image on October 6, 2012.
“As I wandered through the scorched remnants of the village, I came across this heart-wrenching sight,” recounted the photographer. “Overcome with compassion, I took out my camera and sat down, observing the little dog. I began taking photos after steadying my camera.”
I thought, when it’s time for me to leave, I’ll take the little dog with me, as nobody would adopt him. However, a kind-hearted man ended up taking the pup in.
We both agreed that due to the dog’s poor condition, he should be brought to a Buddhist communal house in the village. I’ll definitely visit him in the near future.”
Animals, like humans, experience emotions, but the ways they express these feelings can be as diverse as the species themselves.
