When even longtime Democrats bid farewell to their Party, you know there’s a problem. The liberal echelons know it, and Kamala, their Plan B, did not work.
Woke politics of the left has destroyed any dignity left from the tormented, gender-bending Party.
Gloria Romero, a former Democratic majority lawmaker in the State Senate, declared last Wednesday that she is officially ‘done.’
Romero, 69, was a state Senator for East Los Angeles County from 2001 to 2010. From 2005 to 2008, she was the majority leader and proudly served a term in the Assembly.
During a press conference in Sacramento, the former state Senator remarked, “I am now another near-lifelong Democrat who is joining the growing number of people — including key groups, Latinos — who are leaving the Democratic Party.”
She reflected, “This is not the Democratic Party that I once championed, I don’t recognize it anymore and I cannot continue.”
Romero also announced that she is now a member of the GOP and would vote for Donald Trump in November.
She also lauded President Trump for advancing the cause of working people.
“I changed my voting registration today as the sun was rising to Republican, which has, under Donald Trump, become the champion of working people, the big tent. And indeed, I will vote for Donald Trump this fall.”
Senate Minority Leader Brian Jones of San Diego hailed Romero’s courage and dedication “to doing what’s best for California.”
“For years, Gloria urged her now former party to ‘wake up’ and start standing up for everyday families again.”
“We are honored to have Gloria on our side as we fight to fix California,” Jones continued.
Before Romero, another staunch Democrat supporter, State Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil, also flipped sides and declared that the Democratic Party no longer upheld the same beliefs she knew when she was elected in 2022.
California GOP Chairwoman Jessica Millan Patterson also welcomed Romero.
“Like many frustrated Democrats, Senator Romero no longer recognized her former party.”
“We welcome everyone to join us in this fight to make safer communities for our families, better schools for our children, and a stronger economy for us all to thrive — because California deserves so much better.”
Millan quipped that Romero was one of the huge numbers shifting from Democrats to Republics in California.
According to the California GOP leader, the California Republicans recorded more than 200,000 voter registration increase last year, while California Democrats lost 100,000 voters.
