When a concerned citizen found a lonely mother dog inside a trash can, Miсhigaո Hսmaոе Sσсiеtу’s iոνеstigatσrs were immediately alerted. When rescuers arrived, they noticed that she was malnourished and recently has given birth. Along the area of 7 Mile and Southfield Road in Detroit on March 9, 2020, the rescuers scanned the area to find her babies, but to no avail. They suspected that whoever left her in the dumpster kept her babies and put them up for sale.
“As you can see in the photos, she is very thin, and sadly, we have been unable to locate her puppies,” MHS wrote on their Facebook page.
The mother dog is malnourished and underweight by about 10 to 15 lbs. They estimated her to be an adult but could not recall how old she is.
The mother dog is now recuperating at the MHS shelter, but she seems sad and feeling weak without her puppies. Once she has completely recovered, MHS will find a good family who will adopt her. MHS investigators are still trying to find her babies but are speculating that she may have come from a different place other than Detroit.
If anyone recognizes the mother dog and has information about her puppies, ρlеasе сall thе Miсhigaո Hսmaոе Sσсiеtу at (313) 872-3401. Local authorities are investigating who has left the poor mother dog in this condition.
